The Electricity Act 1989 (Transfer Date) (Scotland) Order 1990

The Secretary of State, in exercise of the power conferred on him by section 67(3) of the Electricity Act 1989(1), and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf and with the consent of the Treasury as required by section 65(4) of that Act, hereby makes the following Order:

1.  This Order may be cited as the Electricity Act 1989 (Transfer Date) (Scotland) Order 1990.

2.  The day appointed for the purposes of section 67(4) of the Electricity Act 1989 shall be 31st March 1990.

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order appoints 31st March 1990 as the transfer date on which the property, rights and liabilities of the Scottish Electricity Boards will be transferred, in accordance with schemes made under section 67 of the Electricity Act 1989, to successor companies nominated for the purpose by order of the Secretary of State. Those companies are nominated by the Electricity Act 1989 (Nominated Companies) (Scotland) Order 1989 (S.I. 1989/2448).
