The Secretary of State, on application to him by two proprietors of salmon fisheries in the Rivers Irvine and Garnock salmon fishery district, having carried out all necessary consultations and complied with all necessary procedures as required by paragraphs 3 and 4 of Schedule 1 to the Salmon Act 19861 as applied by section 6(6) of that Act (there being no objections or representations duly made with respect to the proposals in the application), in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 6(3) of that Act and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:
Citation and commencement1
This Order may be cited as the Annual Close Time (Rivers Irvine and Garnock Salmon Fishery District) Order 1990 and shall come into force on 1st October 1990.
Period within the annual close time for salmon fishing by rod and line2
For the part of the Rivers Irvine and Garnock salmon fishery district specified in the Schedule to this Order, the period within the annual close time (the dates of which are by virtue of the provisions referred to in section 6(2)(b) of the Salmon Act 1986, 10th September to 24th February) when it is permitted to fish for and take salmon by rod and line is prescribed as the period from 10th September to 15th November, both dates inclusive.
SCHEDULE
The part of the Rivers Irvine and Garnock salmon fishery district mentioned in article 2 of this Order comprises the catchment area and estuary of the River Irvine and the adjacent area of sea bounded on the north by a line drawn south west (true) from the north end of Irvine Bar (O.S. Grid Reference 22995 63780) and on the south by the southern boundary of the said district.
