The Assured Tenancies and Agricultural Occupancies (Forms) (Amendment) Regulations 1990

The Secretary of State for the Environment, as respects England, and the Secretary of State for Wales, as respects Wales, in exercise of the powers conferred upon them by sections 6(3), 13(4), 20(2), 22(1) and 45(1) and (5) of the Housing Act 1988(1), and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf, hereby make the following Regulations—

1.  These Regulations may be cited as the Assured Tenancies and Agricultural Occupancies (Forms) (Amendment) Regulations 1990 and shall come into force on17th August 1990.

2.  The forms in the Schedule to the Assured Tenancies and Agricultural Occupancies (Forms) Regulations 1988(2)are amended as follows—

(a)for paragraph 5 of form 2, paragraph 4 of form 6 and paragraph 4 of form 8 substitute—

”;

(b)omit paragraph 4 of form 7; and

(c)in form 8 omit the first paragraph in the right hand column below the heading.

3.  Nothing in these Regulations affects the validity of a notice served before17th December 1990 if the notice was in the form originally prescribed by the Regulations mentioned in regulation 2.

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Regulations)

These Regulations amend the forms, prescribed by the Assured Tenancies and Agricultural Occupancies (Forms) Regulations 1988, for giving notice of an intention to grant an assured shorthold tenancy and for applying to a rent assessment committee under Part I of the Housing Act 1988. There are drafting amendments and amendments related to the abolition of domestic rating.
