The Secretary of State for Social Security, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 30(1) of, and paragraph 2(6) of Schedule 8 to the Social Security Act 19891 and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, after agreement by the Social Security Advisory Committee that the proposals to make these Regulations should not be referred to it2, hereby makes the following Regulations:
Citation and commencement1
These Regulations may be cited as the Social Security (Local Councillors) Amendment Regulations 1990 and shall come into force on 1st August 1990.
Amendment of the Social Security (Severe Disablement Allowance (Amendment) and Local Councillors Consequential) Regulations 19892
In paragraph (3) of regulation 3 of the Social Security (Severe Disablement Allowance (Amendment) and Local Councillors Consequential) Regulations 19893 (treatment of a local councillor’s allowance paid otherwise than weekly) for the words “In the case of a special responsibility allowance,” there shall be substituted the words “In the case of a basic allowance or a special responsibility allowance,”.
