The Registration of Births, Deaths and Marriages (Fees) (Scotland) Order 1989

The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 5 of and Schedule 3 to the Public Expenditure and Receipts Act 19681 and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:

Citation and commencement1

This Order may be cited as the Registration of Births, Deaths and Marriages (Fees) (Scotland) Order 1989 and shall come into force on 1st April 1990.

Fees2

The fees payable under the enactments specified in column 1 of the Schedule to this Order in respect of the certificates described in column 2 of that Schedule shall (in place of the amounts previously prescribed which are specified in column 3 thereof2 be respectively the amounts specified in column 4 thereof.

Revocation3

The Registration of Births, Deaths and Marriages (Fees) (Scotland) Order 19823 is hereby revoked.

This Order sets out, with effect from 1st April 1990, the fee payable for a certificate of birth, death or marriage issued for special purposes under certain statutory provisions. The fee is increased as at that date from £1.50 to £3.00. As a consequence, the Registration of Births, Deaths and Marriages (Fees) (Scotland) Order 1982 is revoked.
