The Teachers' Pay and Conditions Act 1987 (Continuation) Order 1989

In exercise of the powers conferred on the Secretary of State by section 6(2) of the Teachers' Pay and Conditions Act 19871, the Secretary of State for Education and Science hereby makes the following Order, a draft of which has been laid before Parliament pursuant to section 6(4) of that Act and approved by resolution of each House of Parliament:—

This Order may be cited as the Teachers' Pay and Conditions Act 1987 (Continuation) Order 1989.

The Teachers' Pay and Conditions Act 1987 shall not expire on 31st March 1990 but shall continue in force for a further year.

Section 6 of the Teachers' Pay and Conditions Act 1987 provides that that Act shall expire on 31st March 1990 unless continued in force by an order made by the Secretary of State. This Order continues that Act in force for a further year.
