Coming into force

The Secretary of State, in exercise of powers conferred by subsections 3(3) and 3(4) of the Commonwealth Development Corporation Act 19781 and now vested in him2, and with the consent of the Treasury, hereby makes the following Order:

This Order may be cited as the Commonwealth Development Corporation (Additional Enterprises) (Variation) Order 1989 and shall come into force on 8th January 1990.

The Commonwealth Development Corporation (Additional Enterprises) Order 19873 shall be varied by the addition to the classes of enterprises specified in article 2 thereof, of the classes of enterprises specified below—

enterprises for merchanting, wholesaling and stockholding; for the provision or improvement of factories and industrial, commercial and retail premises; and for the promotion of tourism.

This Order and the Commonwealth Development Corporation (Additional Enterprises) Order 1987 may together be cited as the Commonwealth Development Corporation (Additional Enterprises) Orders 1987 to 1989.

This Order adds enterprises for merchanting, wholesaling and stockholding, for the provision or improvement of factories, and industrial, commercial and retail premises, and for the promotion of tourism to the classes of enterprises to which the powers of the Corporation, under the Commonwealth Development Corporation Acts 1978 to 1986, relate. It varies article 2 of the Commonwealth Development Corporation (Additional Enterprises) Order 1987.
