The Sludge (Use in Agriculture) Regulations 1989

The Secretary of State for the Environment as respects England, the Secretary of State for Wales as respects Wales and the Secretary of State for Scotland as respects Scotland, in exercise of powers conferred on them by section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 1972(1), and being the Ministers designated(2) for the purposes of that subsection in relation to the regulation and control of the use of sludge in agriculture, hereby make the following Regulations:


1972 c. 68; section 2 is subject to Schedule 2 to that Act and is to be read, as regards England and Wales, with sections 37, 40 and 46 of the Criminal Justice Act 1982 (c. 48), and S.I. 1984/447 and section 52(4) of the Criminal Justice Act 1988 (c. 33) and, as regards Scotland, with sections 289F and 289G of the Criminal Procedure (Scotland) Act 1975 (c. 21), as inserted by section 54 of the Criminal Justice Act 1982 (c. 48) and S.I. 1984/526 and amended by section 66 of the Criminal Justice (Scotland) Act 1987 (c. 41).
