In exercise of powers conferred by section 2(2) of the Hospital Complaints Procedure Act 1985(1) and of all other powers enabling me in that behalf, I hereby make the following Order:-
1. This Order may be cited as the Hospital Complaints Procedure Act 1985 (Commencement) Order 1989.
2. The Hospital Complaints Procedure Act 1985 shall come into force on 11th July 1989.

This Order brings into force on 11th July 1989 the Hospital Complaints Procedure Act 1985 which requires the Secretary of State to issue directions to health authorities and health boards on the complaints procedure to be operated by them in respect of hospital patients including steps to publicise such procedure.
