Coming into force
The Secretary of State for Social Services in exercise of powers conferred on him by section 15(1)(b) of the National Health Service Act 19771, and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Regulations:
Citation and commencement1
These Regulations may be cited as the National Health Service Functions (Directions to Authorities and Administration Arrangements) Amendment Regulations 1988 and shall come into force on 6th June 1988.
Amendment of Regulations2

Regulation 10 of the National Health Service Functions (Directions to Authorities and Administration Arrangements) Regulations 19822 (arrangements by District Health Authorities for exercise of functions) shall be amended in accordance with the following provisions of this regulation.

In paragraph (1) the words “the following paragraph of this regulation, to” shall be omitted.

After paragraph (1) there shall be added the following paragraph–
1A
Subject to any directions which may be given by the Secretary of State, functions of a District Authority exercisable by virtue of an order3 under section 103(1) of the Act may by arrangement with that Authority be exercised on its behalf by a Family Practitioner Committee.
