The Secretary of State, in exercise of powers conferred on him by sections 25(1) and (2), and 108(1) of the National Health Service (Scotland) Act 1978((1)), and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Regulations:
1. These Regulations may be cited as the National Health Service (General Dental Services) (Scotland) Amendment Regulations 1988 and shall come into force on 1st June 1988.
2. In regulation 26(1) of the National Health Service (General Dental Services) (Scotland) Regulations 1974((2)) (statement of dental remuneration)-(a) in column 1 (Determination) below the number “IV” there shall be inserted the number “IVA” ; and
(b)in column 2 (Subject matter of determination), there shall be inserted, so as to relate to determination IVA, the words “Allowances to dentists with respect to their training of recently registered dentists;” .

These Regulations amend the National Health Service (General Dental Services) (Scotland) Regulations 1974 which make arrangements for the provision by dentists of general dental services under the National Health Service. These Regulations extend the scope of the Statement of Dental Remuneration, so as to make provision for allowances to dentists providing general dental services who train recently registered dentists.
1978 c. 29; section 25(2) was amended by S.I. 1981/432; see section 108(1) for definitions of “prescribed” and “regulations” .
