The Secretary of State for the Environment, on the application of the North West Water Authority, being statutory water undertakers(1), and in exercise of powers conferred by sections 33 and 59(1)(2) of the Water Act 1945(3) and now vested in him(4), and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order :
1. This Order may be cited as the North West Water Authority (Wilmslow and Alderley Edge) Order 1988 and shall come into force on the 21st January 1988.
2. Section 61 of the Stockport Corporation Water Act 1899(5) (which provides for the Corporation to soften and clarify the water supplied by them) shall cease to have effect.
