The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 36(2)(b) of the Legal Aid (Scotland) Act 1986(1), and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Regulations, a draft of which has been laid before, and approved by a resolution of, each House of Parliament:

These Regulations may be cited as the Civil Legal Aid (Financial Conditions) (Scotland) Regulations 1988 and shall come into force on 11th April 1988.

In these Regulations “the Act” means the Legal Aid (Scotland) Act 1986.

For the yearly sum of £5,585 specified in section 15(1) of the Act(2), there is hereby substituted the yearly sum of £5,765.

For the sum of £4,850 specified in section 15(2)(a) of the Act, there is hereby substituted the sum of £5,000.

For the yearly sum of £2,325 specified in section 17(2)(a) of the Act, there is hereby substituted the yearly sum of £2,400.

The Civil Legal Aid (Financial Conditions) (Scotland) Regulations 1987(3) are hereby revoked.
