The Criminal Justice Act 1987 (Commencement No. 2) Order 1988

In exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 16(1) of the Criminal Justice Act 19871, I hereby make the following Order:

This Order may be cited as the Criminal Justice Act 1987 (Commencement No. 2) Order 1988.

The provisions of the Criminal Justice Act 1987 specified in the Schedule to this Order shall come into force on 6th April 1988.

Section 15, so far as it relates to paragraphs 6 and 13 of Schedule 2.

Minor and consequential amendments.

Paragraphs 6 and 13 of Schedule 2.

Amendments to the Prosecution of Offenders (Northern Ireland) Order 1972 (S.I.1972/538 (N.I.1)) and the Prosecution of Offenders Act 1985 (c. 23). respectively.

This Order brings into force on 6th April 1988 sections 1, 2 and 3 of an Schedule 1 to the Criminal Justice Act 1987, so far as they are not already in force (and the related consequential amendments in Schedule 2), which confer powers on the Serious Fraud Office to investigate offences involving serious or complex fraud and to institute and conduct criminal proceedings.
