Placement decisions by Director of Social Services or nominated person

6.  The decision to place a child shall be made on behalf of the local authority by the Director of Social Services appointed by the authority under section 6 of the Local Authority Social Services Act 1970(1) or by an officer of the local authority nominated in writing for the purpose by the Director.
