Coming into force

The Secretary of State for Transport, in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 89(1) and 91(1) of the Transport Act 19681 and now vested in him2, and of all other enabling powers, and after consultation with representative organisations in accordance with section 91(8) of the said Act, hereby makes the following Regulations:—

These Regulations may be cited as the Goods Vehicles (Operators' Licences, Qualifications and Fees) (Amendment) Regulations 1988 and shall come into force on 3rd January 1989.

The Goods Vehicles (Operators' Licences, Qualifications and Fees) Regulations 19843 are hereby amended in accordance with the following provisions of these Regulations.

In regulation 35(1A)—

a

for the words“on or after 1st May 1986” there shall be substituted“on or after 3rd January 1989”; and

b

in sub-paragraph (a) for“£20” there shall be substituted“£60”.

In regulation 35(1B)(b) for“£15” there shall be substituted“£60”.

These Regulations further amend the Goods Vehicles (Operators' Licences, Qualifications and Fees) Regulations 1984.

The fee prescribed in respect of the grant and variation of a goods vehicles operators' licence is increased from £20 and £15 respectively to £60 with effect from 3rd January 1989.
