The Teignmouth (Pilotage) Harbour Revision Order 1988

The Secretary of State for Transport in exercise of the powers conferred by section 14 of the Harbours Act 19641 and now vested in him2 and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, and on the application of the Teignmouth Harbour Commission in accordance with the provisions of section 7(5) of the Pilotage Act 19873, hereby makes the following Order:—
Citation and commencement1
This Order may be cited as the Teignmouth (Pilotage) Harbour Revision Order 1988 and shall come into force on 1st October 1988.
Interpretation2
In this Order—
“the Authority” means the Teignmouth Harbour Commission;
“the Harbour” has the same meaning as in the Teignmouth Harbour Order 1924;
“signed plan” means the plan signed in triplicate by an Under Secretary in the Department of Transport, two copies of which have been deposited at that Department and one copy of which has been deposited at the offices of the Authority situated at 2—5 Orchard Gardens, Teignmouth, Devon, TQ14 8DR.
Extension of limits of jurisdiction for purposes of pilotage3
The limits within which the Authority shall have jurisdiction for the purposes of pilotage under Part 1 of the Pilotage Act 1987 shall include that part of the River Teign below Shaldon Bridge which includes the Harbour, and so much of the area outside the Harbour as lies within that area of sea foreshore and land, and being part of the sea with all harbours and tidal waters within a distance of a radius of two nautical miles from the Ness point at Shaldon in position longitude 50° 32'.2 N, latitude 03° 29'.7 W, which area is shown coloured pink on the signed plan.
