ELECTRICITY

These Regulations replace—the provisions for approval of Systems for the supply of energy and of means of connecting circuits with earth contained in Sections 10(a) and (c) of the Schedule to the Electric Lighting (Clauses) Act 1899 (c. 19)the Electricity Supply Regulations 1937 made by the Electricity Commissioners under the Electricity (Supply) Acts 1882 to 1936 and continued in force by section 60(2) of the Electricity Act 1947 (c. 54); andthe Electricity (Overhead Lines)Regulations 1970 (S.I. 1970/1355).

PART IICONNECTION WITH EARTH

Continuity of the supply neutral conductor and earthing connections4

The supplier shall, in the design, construction, maintenance and operation of his system, take all reasonable precautions to ensure continuity of the supply neutral conductor.

Except as required by any arrangements made pursuant to regulation 26, no fuse or automatic switching device shall be inserted in any supply neutral conductor.
