The Queen’s Most Excellent Majesty in Council
Her Majesty, in exercise of the powers conferred upon Her by section 10(3) of the Evidence (Proceedings in Other Jurisdictions) Act 1975(1), or otherwise in Her Majesty vested, is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows:
1. This Order may be cited as the Bermuda (Evidence) Order 1987 and shall come into force on 1st July 1987.
2. Subsections (2), (3) and (4) of section 8 of the Evidence (Proceedings in Other Jurisdictions) Act 1975 and the provisions of Schedule 2 to that Act that relate to the Foreign Tribunals Evidence Act 1856(2), the Evidence by Commission Act 1859(3), the Extradition Act 1870(4), the Evidence by Commission Act 1885(5) and section 3(1)(b) of the Arbitration (International Investment Disputes) Act 1966(6), as amended in its application to Bermuda(7), shall extend to Bermuda.

This Order extends to Bermuda the provisions of the Evidence (Proceedings in Other Jurisdictions) Act 1975 that provide for the repeal of the Foreign Tribunals Evidence Act 1856, the Evidence by Commission Act 1859, section 24 of the Extradition Act 1870, the Evidence by Commission Act 1885 and section 3(1)(b) of the Arbitration (International Investment Disputes) Act 1966.
