The Queen’s Most Excellent Majesty in Council

Her Majesty in exercise of the powers conferred upon Her by section 1(2) of, and paragraphs 1 and 4 of Schedule 1 to, the Medical Act 19831, and of all other powers enabling Her in that behalf, is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows:

Citation and commencement1

This Order may be cited as the General Medical Council (Constitution) Amendment Order 1987 and shall come into force on 1st May 1987.

Amendment of the General Medical Council (Constitution) Order 19792

In paragraph (c) of article 2 of the General Medical Council (Constitution) Order 19792 (constitution of the General Medical Council) there shall be substituted for the number “11” the number “13”.

This Order which is made under the Medical Act 1983 amends Article 2 of the General Medical Council (Constitution) Order 1979 so as to provide for 13 nominated members instead of 11.
