The Queen`s Most Excellent Majesty in Council
Her Majesty, in exercise of the powers conferred upon Her by section 1(2) of the Anguilla Act 1980(1), is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows:
1. This Order may be cited as the Anguilla (Public Seal) Order 1987 and shall come into force on 19th March 1987.
2. This Order shall be construed as one with the Constitution of Anguilla set out in the Schedule to the Anguilla Constitution Order 1982(2).
3. Notwithstanding the provisions of the Constitution of Anguilla or any other law in force in Anguilla —
(a)until such time as a public seal is provided for Anguilla, a stamp bearing the words “Government of Anguilla” and countersigned by the Governor may be used instead of such seal;
(b)all things required to be done under the public seal which were done before the commencement of this Order with the use of such stamp and countersigned as aforesaid or by the signature of the Governor alone shall be deemed to have been done as validly and effectively as if they had been done under the public seal.

This Order enables a Government of Anguilla stamp countersigned by the Governor to be used in Anguilla instead of a public seal, pending provision of a public seal for Anguilla, and validates things done with the use of such stamp so countersigned or by the Governor`s signature.
