Citation, commencement and interpretation1

These Regulations may be cited as the National Assistance (Charges for Accommodation) (Scotland) Regulations 1987 and shall come into force on 6th April 1987.

These Regulations shall extend to Scotland only.

In these Regulations–
“the Act” means the National Assistance Act 1948;
“Personal Injuries Scheme”,“Service Pensions Instrument” and “1914-18 War Injuries Scheme” have the same meanings as in the Social Security (Overlapping Benefits) Regulations 19793;
a reference to a section of the Act is a reference to the section as applied by section 87(3)of the Social Work (Scotland) Act 19686 for the purposes of accommodation provided under that Act.
