The Misuse of Drugs (Licence Fees) (Amendment) Regulations 1987

In pursuance of sections 30, 31 and 37(1) of the Misuse of Drugs Act 19711, and after consultation with the Advisory Council on the Misuse of Drugs, I hereby make the following Regulations:—

These Regulations may be cited as the Misuse of Drugs (Licence Fees) (Amendment) Regulations 1987 and shall come into force on 1st April 1987.

Regulation 3(1) of the Misuse of Drugs (Licence Fees) Regulations 19862 shall be amended as follows—

a

in sub-paragraph (a), for “£318” there shall be substituted “£324”;

b

in sub-paragraph (b), for “£212” there shall be substituted “£216”;

c

in sub-paragraph (c), for “£106” there shall be substituted “£108”;

d

in sub-paragraph (d), for “£106” there shall be substituted “£108”; and

e

in sub-paragraph (e), for “£53” there shall be substituted “£54”.

Section 30 of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971 provides that a licence issued by the Secretary of State for the purposes of that Act or of Regulations made under it may be issued subject to the condition of payment of a fee. The Misuse of Drugs (Licence Fees) Regulations 1986 prescribe the fee payable in relation to a licence to produce, supply, offer to supply or possess controlled drugs; the present Regulations amend those Regulations so as to increase the fees there prescribed by approximately 2 per cent.
