Whereas a draft of this Order has been approved by resolution of each House of Parliament:

Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred upon me by section 17(2)(a) of the Prevention of Terrorism (Temporary Provisions) Act 19841, I hereby make the following Order:

This Order may be cited as the Prevention of Terrorism (Temporary Provisions) Act 1984 (Continuance) Order 1987 and shall come into force on 22nd March 1987.

In this Order, “the temporary provisions of the Act of 1984” means sections 1 to 13, 14 (except in so far as it relates to orders under subsection (2)(a) or (b) of section 17) and 17(2)(c) of the Prevention of Terrorism (Temporary Provisions) Act 1984 and Schedules 1 to 3 thereto.

The temporary provisions of the Act of 1984 shall continue in force for a period of twelve months beginning with 22nd March 1987.

This Order continues in force the temporary provisions of the Prevention of Terrorism (Temporary Provisions) Act 1984 for a period of 12 months from 22nd March 1987. These provisions are currently in force by virtue of the Prevention of Terrorism (Temporary Provisions) Act 1984 (Continuance) Order 1986 (S.I.1986/417).
