Coming into force

The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 1(1) of the Food and Environment Protection Act 19851, and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:

Citation and commencement1

This Order may be cited as the Food Protection (Emergency Prohibitions) (No. 10) Revocation Order 1987 and shall come into force on 27th February 1987.

Revocation2

The Food Protection (Emergency Prohibitions) (No. 10) Order 19862 is hereby revoked.

This Order revokes the Food Protection (Emergency Prohibitions) (No. 10) Order 1986 (which contained a prohibition on the slaughter of certain sheep following the escape of radioactive substances from a nuclear reactor situated at Chernobyl, in the Ukraine, USSR). In consequence the prohibition which applied throughout the United Kingdom on the slaughter, for human consumption or for use in the preparation of feeding stuffs, of sheep which had been moved from the designated areas described in column 1 of Schedule 2 to that Order, between the dates specified in column 2 of that Schedule no longer applies.
