Coming into force

The Secretary of State for Transport, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 6 of, and paragraph 27 of Schedule 9 to, the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984(1), and of all other enabling powers, and after consultation with the Secretary of State for the Home Department, hereby makes the following Order:—

This Order may be cited as the Islington (Prescribed Routes) (No. 4) Traffic Order 1985 (Variation) Order 1987 and shall come into force on 14th December 1987.

The Islington (Prescribed Routes) (No. 4) Traffic Order 1985(2) shall be varied and have effect as though for article 9 of that Order there were substituted the article similarly numbered in the Schedule to this Order.

SCHEDULE

No person shall cause any vehicle to enter the carriageway on the south-west side of the central island site in City Road situated at or adjacent to its junction with Wakley Street:

  • Provided that nothing in this Article shall apply in relation to—

    1. a

      a public service vehicle being used in the provision of a London local service;

    2. b

      a public service vehicle being used in accordance with a time-table to carry passengers for hire or reward at separate fares other than one being used in the provision of a local service;

    3. c

      a school bus; or

    4. d

      a works bus.

  • In this Article—

    • “London local service” and “local service” have the same meanings as in the Transport Act 1985(3)

    • “public service vehicle” has the same meaning as in the Public Passenger Vehicles Act 1981(4).
