Coming into force
The Secretary of State for Transport, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 34(3)(a) of the Vehicles (Excise) Act (Northern Ireland) 19721, as set out in paragraph 24 of Part I of Schedule 9 to that Act, now vested in him2, and of all other enabling powers, hereby makes the following Regulations:
Citation and commencement1
These Regulations may be cited as the Road Vehicles (Prescribed Regulations for the Purposes of Increased Penalties) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1987 and shall come into force on 1st January 1988.
Prescribing of regulations2
The regulations of the Road Vehicles (Registration and Licensing) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 19733 specified in column (1) of the Table below, the subject matter of which is briefly described in column (2) of the Table, are hereby prescribed for the purposes of paragraph (a) of section 34(3) of the Vehicles (Excise) Act (Northern Ireland) 1972 (as set out in paragraph 24 of Part I of Schedule 9 to that Act).
