These Regulations apply to Scotland and come into force on 23rd December 1987. They further amend the Colouring Matter in Food (Scotland) Regulations 1973 by—
(a)prohibiting the presence in food specially prepared for babies and young children of added colouring matter other than the vitamin sources Riboflavin or Lactoflavin E101, Riboflavin-5'- phosphate and beta-Carotene E160 which comply with prescribed purity criteria (regulation 2(a));
(b)removing Yellow 2G from the list of colouring matter permitted in or on food (regulation 2(b));
(c)revoking the permission for citrus fruit to be marked with Methyl Violet (regulation 2(c)).
