The General Optical Council (Registration and Enrolment (Amendment) Rules) Order of Council 1987

At the Council Chamber, Whitehall, the 3rd day of November 1987
By the Lords of Her Majesty’s Most Honourable Privy Council
Whereas in pursuance of section 7 of the Opticians Act 19581 the General Optical Council have made the Registration and Enrolment (Amendment) Rules 1987:
And whereas by subsection (5) of the said section such rules shall not come into force until approved by Order of the Privy Council:
Now, therefore, Their Lordships having taken the said rules into consideration, are hereby pleased to approve the same as set out in the Schedule to this Order.
This Order may be cited as the General Optical Council (Registration and Enrolment (Amendment) Rules) Order of Council 1987.
SCHEDULEThe Registration and Enrolment (Amendment) Rules 1987
In pursuance of their powers under section 7 of the Opticians Act 1958, the General Optical Council hereby make the following rules:—

These rules may be cited as the Registration and Enrolment (Amendment) Rules 1987.

The Appendix to the Registration and Enrolment Rules 1976 (scheduled to the General Optical Council (Registration and Enrolment Rules) Order of Council 19772 shall be further amended by replacing the figures £25, £13, and £6, on each occasion where they appear, by the figures £30, £16 and £10, respectively.

These rules shall come into operation on the 1st day of April 1988 and shall apply to applications for registration, enrolment, retention, restoration and transfer to take effect on or after the 1st day of April, 1988 whether made before, on or after that date.
