The Police Cadets (Scotland) Amendment (No.2) Regulations 1987

Coming into force

The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section 27 of the Police (Scotland) Act 19671, and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, and after taking into consideration the recommendations made by the Police Negotiating Board for the United Kingdom and furnishing the said Board with a draft of the Regulations in accordance with section 2(1) of the Police Negotiating Board Act 19802, hereby makes the following Regulations:

Citation1

These Regulations may be cited as the Police Cadets (Scotland) Amendment (No.2) Regulations 1987.

Commencement2

These Regulations shall come into force on 27th November 1987 and shall have effect for the purposes of regulation 5 as from 1st September 1987.

Interpretation3

In these Regulations any reference to “the principal Regulations” is a reference to the Police Cadets (Scotland) Regulations 19683.

Amendment of the principal Regulations

In regulation 15 of the principal Regulations (which relates to travel allowances) for the sums “£0.50” and “£36” there are substituted the sums “£1.27” and “£92” respectively.

For the Table in Schedule 1 to the principal Regulations (which contains scales of pay) there is substituted the following Table:—

In Schedule 2 to the principal Regulations (which relates to charges for board and lodging), for the sum “£420” there is substituted the sum “£444”.

Revocation7

The Police Cadets (Scotland) Amendment Regulations 19874 are revoked.

These Regulations further amend the Police Cadets (Scotland) Regulations 1968.

Regulation 4 increases the maximum travel allowance for cadets travelling to their parents or guardian outside the British Isles from £36 to £92 and increases the minimum cost below which no reimbursement is made from £0.50 to £1.27.

Regulation 5 increases the pay of police cadets with retrospective effect from 1st September 1987. Retrospection is authorised by section 27(2) of the Police (Scotland) Act 1967.

Regulation 6 increases the charges payable by cadets for board and lodging provided by police authorities from £420 per annum to £444 per annum with effect from 27th November 1987.
