The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 73(a) and (c) and 74(1) of the Education (Scotland) Act 1980(1), and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Regulations:
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Education (Grants for Further Training of Teachers and Educational Psychologists) (Scotland) Amendment Regulations 1987 and shall come into force on 1st December 1987.
2. For regulation 3(b) of the Education (Grants for Further Training of Teachers and Educational Psychologists) (Scotland) (No. 2) Regulations 1987(2) there shall be substituted the following:—
“(b)educational psychologists in respect only of training consisting of either—
(i)the preparation of, or engagement in, a project approved as suitable by the Secretary of State, on the advice of an assessor, or
(ii)attendance at a course leading to a post-graduate degree in educational psychology.”.

These Regulations amend the Education (Grants for Further Training of Teachers and Educational Psychologists) (Scotland) (No. 2) Regulations 1987 so as to provide that grants may be paid in respect of educational psychologists who attend a course leading to a post-graduate degree in educational psychology.
