Whereas a draft of this Order has been approved by resolution of each House of Parliament:
Now, therefore, Her Majesty, in exercise of the powers conferred upon Her by section 62(6) of the Judicature (Northern Ireland) Act 19781 and of all other powers enabling Her in that behalf, is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows:—

This Order may be cited as the Jury Trial (Amendment) (Northern Ireland) Order 1987 and shall come into force on 1st August 1987.

In section 62(1) of the Judicature (Northern Ireland) Act 1978 (classes of action which, if any party to the action so requests, are to be tried with a jury) paragraph (e) (actions in which a claim is made in respect of injury or death) shall be omitted.
