The Driving Licences (Exchangeable Licences) Order 1985
Citation and commencement1.
This Order may be cited as the Driving Licences (Exchangeable Licences) Order 1985 and shall come into operation on 2nd February 1985.
Designation of countries and territory2.
The following countries, namely Barbados, the Republic of Cyprus, Finland, Malta and Zimbabwe, and the territory of the British Virgin Islands, are hereby designated within paragraph (b) of the definition of “exchangeable licence” in subsection (1) of section 110 of the Road Traffic Act 1972.
This Order designates the following countries, namely Barbados, the Republic of Cyprus, Finland, Malta and Zimbabwe, and the territory of the British Virgin Islands, within paragraph (b) of the definition of “exchangeable licence” in section 110(1) of the Road Traffic Act 1972.The effect of the Order is that licences issued by the competent authorities of those countries and that territory will be exchangeable for an equivalent licence without a driving test under Part III of that Act if the holders satisfy the requirements of that part of that Act for the grant of a licence in exchange.
