Whereas the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children has made an application in accordance with section 1 of the Chartered Associations (Protection of Names and Uniforms) Act 1926 for the making of an Order under that section:
And whereas notice of that application has been given in accordance with section 1(2)(i) of that Act:
Now, therefore, on that application Her Majesty, in pursuance of section 1(1) of that Act, is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows:—

This Order may be cited as the Chartered Associations (National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children) Protection Order 1985 and shall come into operation on 1st June 1985.

The names, designation and badges specified in paragraph (2) below, being names, a designation and badges such as are described in section 1(1)(a), (b) and (d) of the Chartered Associations (Protection of Names and Uniforms) Act 1926, are hereby protected under that Act.

The names, designation and badges referred to in paragraph (1) above are—
a
the name “National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children”;
b
the designation “NSPCC”;
c
the name “NSPCC Young League”; and
d
the following badges to be worn without uniform:—
i
a badge depicting the letters “NSPCC” adjacent to the hand of an adult grasping the hand of a child;
ii
a badge which is oval in shape, with irregular edges, and depicting a pair of weighing scales (“the Scales of Justice”) surrounded by the words “The Prevention of Cruelty to Children”, surmounted by a coronet and superimposed upon a sword;
iii
a badge which is oval in shape, with regular edges, and depicting a pair of weighing scales (“the Scales of Justice”) surrounded by the words “The Prevention of Cruelty to Children” and superimposed upon a sword.
