In exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 65(7) of the Criminal Law Act 1977, I hereby make the following Order:—
1. This Order may be cited as the Criminal Law Act 1977 (Commencement No. 12) Order 1985.
2. Section 48 of the Criminal Law Act 1977 (which confers power to make rules as to the furnishing of information by the prosecutor in criminal proceedings) shall come into operation on 20th May 1985.

This Order brings into force on 20th May 1985 section 48 of the Criminal Law Act 1977. Section 48 extends the power to make rules conferred by section 144 the Magistrates' Courts Act 1980 (c. 43) to enable rules to be made under that section as to the furnishing of information by the prosecutor to the defence. On that date the whole of the Criminal Law Act 1977 will have been brought into force.
