Coming into Operation

The Secretary of State for Transport, in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 47(1) and 50(1)of the Road Traffic Act 19721, and now vested in him2 and of all other enabling powers, and after consultation with representative organisations in accordance with the provisions of section 199(2) of that Act, hereby makes the following Regulations:—

These Regulations may be cited as the Motor Vehicles (Type Approval for Goods Vehicles) (Great Britain) (Amendment) Regulations 1985 and shall come into operation on 1st March 1985.

The Motor Vehicles (Type Approval for Goods Vehicles) (Great Britain) Regulations 19823 are hereby amended so that in paragraph (2) of Regulation 3, in sub-paragraph (g) for the words “engineering plant, a land tractor” there are substituted the words “an agricultural motor vehicle, engineering plant”.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

These Regulations further amend the Motor Vehicles (Type Approval for Goods Vehicles) (Great Britain) Regulations 1982 so that the vehicles to which the Regulations do not apply include an agricultural motor vehicle instead of a land tractor. This amendment follows amendments to the Motor Vehicles (Construction and Use) Regulations 1978 (S.I. 1978/1017) made by the Motor Vehicles (Construction and Use) (Amendment) (No. 7) Regulations 1984 (S.I. 1984/1809).
