Whereas a draft of this Order has been laid before Parliament in accordance with section 10 of the International Organisations Act 1968 (hereinafter referred to as the Act) and has been approved by a resolution of each House of Parliament:

The World Intellectual Property Organisation (Immunities and Privileges) Order 1968 is hereby revoked.
This Order amends the Specialized Agencies of the United Nations (Immunities and Privileges) Order 1974 by adding the World Intellectual Property Organization to the list of Specialized Agencies in respect of which that Order confers privileges and immunities. It will enable Her Majesty's Government to apply the provisions of the Convention on the Privileges and Immunities of the Specialized Agencies of the United Nations (Cmnd. 855) to the Organization. The Order will come into operation on the date on which Annex XV to that Convention (Cmnd. 7326) comes into force for the United Kingdom.
