The Secretary of State for Transport, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 44(4) of the Road Traffic Act 1972(1) and now vested in him(2), and of all other enabling powers, and after consultation with representative organisations in accordance with the provisions of section 199(2) of that Act, hereby makes the following Regulations:—
1. These Regulations shall come into operation on 1st December 1982 and may be cited as the Motor Vehicles (Tests) (Amendment) (No. 3) Regulations 1982.
2. The Motor Vehicles (Tests) Regulations 1981(3) are further amended in accordance with the following provisions of these Regulations.
3. In Regulation 3 (Interpretation), in paragraph (1), after the definition of “normal working week” insert the following definition—
““play bus” means
4. In Regulation 5 (Classification of Vehicles and Application of Regulations), in paragraph (1), in the specification of Class V, for the words “Large passenger-carrying vehicles” substitute the words “Large passenger-carrying vehicles, play buses”.

These Regulations amend the Motor Vehicles (Tests) Regulations 1981, so as to define the expression “play bus” (Regulation 3) and to provide that play buses shall be within Class V (Regulation 4).
