Coming into Operation

The Treasury, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 2(1) of the National Savings Bank Act 1971 and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf, hereby make the following Regulations:—

These Regulations may be cited as the National Savings Bank (Amendment) (No. 3) Regulations 1982, and shall come into operation on 1st October 1982.

The National Savings Bank Regulations 19721 shall be amended as follows:—

a

in Regulation 21(4), by substituting for the words “Regulations 22, 23 and 24” the words “Regulation 22”;

b

by deleting Regulations 23 and 24.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

These Regulations, which amend the National Savings Bank Regulations 1972, provide that after 30th September 1982 a National Savings Bank depositor will no longer be able to withdraw ordinary deposits by telegraph.
