These Rules may be cited as the County Court Rules 1981 (Amendment No. 2) Rules 1982.

In these Rules, unless the context otherwise requires, an Order referred to by number means the Order so numbered in the County Court Rules 19811, and Appendix A or B means Appendix A or B to those Rules.

In each of the provisions mentioned in the first column of the following table the words specified opposite thereto in the second column shall be omitted and the words, if any, specified in the third column shall be substituted therefor.

In Order 1, rule 9—
a
for paragraphs (2) and (3) there shall be substituted the following paragraph:—

Where the act is required to be done not less than a specified period before a specified date, the period starts immediately after the date on which the act is done and ends immediately before the specified date.
b
paragraphs (4), (5) and (6) shall stand as paragraphs (3), (4) and (5) respectively.

In Order 10,
rule 5, after “the plaintiff's

counterclaim”

In Order 16, rule 4(2), at the end there shall be added the following paragraph:—
In this paragraph `defence'includes a counterclaim and, in the case of an application for an order under rule 1(b), a request for time for payment.

We, the undersigned members of the Rule Committee appointed by the Lord Chancellor under section 102 of the County Courts Act 1959, having by virtue of the powers vested in us in this behalf made the foregoing Rules, do hereby certify the same under our hand and submit them to the Lord Chancellor accordingly.
I allow these Rules, which shall come into operation on 1st September 1982.
