The Cycle Racing On Highways (Amendment) Regulations 1980

Coming into Operation
The Minister of Transport (in relation to England) and the Secretary of State for Wales (in relation to Wales) in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 20(2) and (3) of the Road Traffic Act 1972 and now vested in them1 and of all other enabling powers, after consultation with representative organisations in accordance with section 199(2) of the said Act, hereby make the following Regulations:—

These Regulations shall come into operation on 12th September 1980 and may be cited as the Cycle Racing on Highways (Amendment) Regulations 1980.

The Cycle Racing on Highways Regulations 19602 shall be further amended in accordance with the provisions of these Regulations.

In Regulation 5, in paragraph (1), for item (i) in sub-paragraph (a) substitute the following item:—
i
the number of competitors must not exceed—
- a
in two, but not more than two, races selected in any one year by the British Cycling Federation of 70 Brompton Road, London, 84;
- b
in the case of any race not promoted by virtue of sub-paragraph (a) above, 60.
