Her Majesty, in exercise of the powers conferred upon Her in that behalf by section 2 of the Commonwealth Telecommunications Act 1968 is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows:—
1. This Order may be cited as the Commonwealth Telecommunications Act 1968 (Appointed Day) Order 1969.
2. The appointed day for the purposes of section 2 of the Commonwealth Telecommunications Act 1968 shall be 1st April 1969.

This Order appoints 1st April 1969 as the appointed day for the purposes of section 2 of the Commonwealth Telecommunications Act 1968. As from the appointed day the provisions relating to the Commonwealth Telecommunications Board contained in the Commonwealth Telegraphs Act 1949 and the references to that Board in the House of Commons Disqualification Act 1957 are repealed.
