The tables for calculating the amounts of immediate savings bank annuities shall be the tables set out in the Second Schedule to this Order, being tables constructed in accordance with the rules set out in the First Schedule to this Order.

The Tables1, dated the 12th day of May, 1934, approved by the Treasury for the Grant of Immediate Life Annuities are revoked on the coming into operation of this Order.

This Order may be cited as the Savings Bank Annuities (Tables) Order, 1954.

The Interpretation Act, 1889, shall apply to the interpretation of this Order as it applies to the interpretation of an Act of Parliament.

This Order shall come into force on the day on which the tables set out in the Second Schedule to this Order are published in the London Gazette.2
