These rules may be cited as the Superannuation (Local Government Staffs) (National Service) (Amendment) Rules, 1951, and shall come into operation on the seventeenth day of December, 1951, but shall have effect and be deemed always to have had effect as from the fifteenth day of July, 1950.

These rules and the Superannuation (Local Government Staffs) (National Service) Rules, 19491, shall be construed as one, and may be cited together as the Superannuation (Local Government Staffs) (National Service) Rules, 1949 and 1951.

The Interpretation Act, 1889, applies to the interpretation of these rules as it applies to the interpretation of an Act of Parliament.

In these rules, the expression “rule” means rule contained in the Superannuation (Local Government Staffs) (National Service) Rules, 1949.
