The Hill Farming Improvements Order, 1949
In pursuance of subsection (4) of section 1 of the Hill Farming Act, 1946, the Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries and the Secretary of State for Scotland hereby make the following Order:—
1.
In paragraph 2 of the First Schedule to the said Act before the word “Alteration”
there shall be inserted the word “Erection,”
, and the kinds of operations specified in the said Schedule shall include the erection of farm houses accordingly.

This Order may be cited as the Hill Farming Improvements Order, 1949, and shall come into operation on the 1st day of April, 1949.

The Hill Farming Act, 1946, provides for the making of grants for the improvement of hill farming land. The improvements for which grants may be made are set out in the First Schedule to the Act. This Order adds to the improvements the erection of new farm houses.
