  1. Introductory Text

  2. I.Style of First Commissioner of Works, &c. and Commissioners of Woods, Forests, and Land Revenues.

  3. II.Commissioners of Woods, &c. under this Act to perform the Duties of the present Commissioners of Woods, &c, except as otherwise provided by this Act.

  4. III.Powers of borrowing on Mortgage under 4 & 5 Vict. c.40 and 7 & 8 Vict. c.1 to be vested in Commissioners under this Act, and to be exercised only for discharging existing Charges.

  5. IV.Salaries of Commissioners of Woods, &c.

  6. V.Treasury may assign separate Duties to each Commissioner.

  7. VI.Deeds to be enrolled.

  8. VII.Officers in Office of Woods, &c to continue. As to Appointment and Removal of Officers in future.

  9. VIII.Treasury may abolish any Offices in the Department of Woods, &c.

  10. IX.Monies in Banks, and Stock, to be transferred to new Commissioners of Woods, &c.

  11. X.Commissioners of Woods, &c. not to sit in the House of Commons.

  12. XI.Power to place Woods, &c. under the Management of a Surveyor General.

  13. XII.Power to appoint Surveyor General.

  14. XIII.Surveyor General to have all the Duties and Powers of the Commissioners of Woods, &c.

  15. XIV.A professional Land Surveyor may be appointed as an Itinerant Surveyor.

  16. XV.Appointment of ex-officio Commissioners of Works and Public Buildings.

  17. XVI.Appointment of Architects, Surveyors, &c.

  18. XVII.Salaries.

  19. XVIII.Treasury may transfer the Officers from the Office of Woods, &c. to the Office of the Commissioners of Works, &c.

  20. XIX.Salaries of Offices transferred.

  21. XX.First Commissioner of Works may sit in the House of Commons.

  22. XXI.Commissioners of Works, &c. to perform the Duties formerly performed by Surveyor General.

  23. XXII.Duties of Commissioners of Woods, &c. in relation to Royal Parks, &c, and under the Acts in Schedule, vested in Commissioners of Works.

  24. XXIII.Powers as to Parts of the Parks preserved to Commissioners of Woods &c. under this Act.

  25. XXIV.Certain ex-officio Commissionerships vested in First Commissioner of Works.

  26. XXV.Salaries and Expenses of the Department of Works, &c. to be provided for by Parliament.

  27. XXVI.Two Commissioners or First Commissioner of Works may act.

  28. XXVII.Property vested in Commissioners of Woods, &c. under Acts in Schedule to vest in Commissioners of Works, &c.

  29. XXVIII.Monies in Banks, and Stock, to be transferred to Commissioners of Works, &c.

  30. XXIX.Matters done or commenced by former Commissioners not to be prejudiced. Suits pending to be carried on in the Name of the New Commissioner of Woods.

  31. XXX.Expenses incurred by new Commissioners of Woods in completing Proceedings relating to Duties of Commissioners of Works to be Expenses of such last-mentioned Commissioners.

  32. XXXI.Transfer of Contracts in respect of Works.

  33. XXXII.Commissioners of Works and Commissioners of Woods, &c. to observe the Directions of the Treasury.

  34. XXXIII.Regulations at present applicable to Commissioners of Woods, &c. to be observed by the Commissioners of Works, &c. and the Commissioners of Woods, &c.

  35. XXXIV.Power to the Treasury to transfer Duties vested in Commissioners of Woods, &c. under Local or Personal Acts to Commissioners of Works, &c. Proviso.

  36. XXXV.Powers of the Treasury under 11 & 12 Vict. c.102 to regulate the Accounts of the present Commissioners of Woods, &c. to be applied to the Accounts of the Commissioners under this Act.

  37. XXXVI.Treasury to make Rules for Collection and Receipt of Land Revenues.

  38. XXXVII.Abstract Accounts of Receipt and Expenditure of Capital and Income of Land Revenues to be transmitted to Commissioners for auditing Public Accounts.

  39. XXXVIII.Abstract Accounts of Receipt and Expenditure of Monies granted or acquired to be transmitted to Commissioners for auditing Public Accounts.

  40. XXXIX.Commissioners for auditing Public Accounts to transmit Copies of the Abstract Accounts relating to Land Revenues to the Treasury.

  41. XL.Saving of Rights.

  42. XLI.Commencement of Act.
