and</Addition></Text></P3para></P3><P3 DocumentURI="http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/Geo5/11-12/49/section/1/3/b" IdURI="http://www.legislation.gov.uk/id/ukpga/Geo5/11-12/49/section/1/3/b" id="section-1-3-b"><Pnumber><Addition ChangeId="d30p44" CommentaryRef="c582332">b</Addition></Pnumber><P3para><Text><Addition ChangeId="d30p44" CommentaryRef="c582332">women who are in receipt of pensions as the widows or dependants of men in the said naval, military, or air service who have died from causes arising out of service during the present war; and</Addition></Text></P3para></P3><P3 DocumentURI="http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/Geo5/11-12/49/section/1/3/c" IdURI="http://www.legislation.gov.uk/id/ukpga/Geo5/11-12/49/section/1/3/c" id="section-1-3-c"><Pnumber><Addition ChangeId="d30p44" CommentaryRef="c582332">c</Addition></Pnumber><P3para><Text><Addition ChangeId="d30p44" CommentaryRef="c582332">such of the local authorities whose districts are situate wholly or partly within the area for which the committee is established as are specified in the scheme; and</Addition></Text></P3para></P3><P3 DocumentURI="http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/Geo5/11-12/49/section/1/3/d" IdURI="http://www.legislation.gov.uk/id/ukpga/Geo5/11-12/49/section/1/3/d" id="section-1-3-d"><Pnumber><Addition ChangeId="d30p44" CommentaryRef="c582332">d</Addition></Pnumber><P3para><Text><Addition ChangeId="d30p44" CommentaryRef="c582332">employers and workmen in industry in equal numbers; and</Addition></Text></P3para></P3><P3 DocumentURI="http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/Geo5/11-12/49/section/1/3/e" IdURI="http://www.legislation.gov.uk/id/ukpga/Geo5/11-12/49/section/1/3/e" id="section-1-3-e"><Pnumber><Addition ChangeId="d30p44" CommentaryRef="c582332">e</Addition></Pnumber><P3para><Text><Addition ChangeId="d30p44" CommentaryRef="c582332">voluntary associations engaged in the care of ex-service men and their families in the area;</Addition></Text></P3para><P3para><Text><Addition ChangeId="d30p44" CommentaryRef="c582332">Provided that—</Addition></Text><P4 DocumentURI="http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/Geo5/11-12/49/section/1/3/e/i" IdURI="http://www.legislation.gov.uk/id/ukpga/Geo5/11-12/49/section/1/3/e/i" id="section-1-3-e-i"><Pnumber><Addition ChangeId="d30p44" CommentaryRef="c582332">i</Addition></Pnumber><P4para><Text><Addition ChangeId="d30p44" CommentaryRef="c582332">the persons appointed as representatives of the persons mentioned in paragraphs (</Addition><Emphasis><Addition ChangeId="d30p44" CommentaryRef="c582332">a</Addition></Emphasis><Addition ChangeId="d30p44" CommentaryRef="c582332">) and (</Addition><Emphasis><Addition ChangeId="d30p44" CommentaryRef="c582332">b</Addition></Emphasis><Addition ChangeId="d30p44" CommentaryRef="c582332">) of this subsection shall together constitute not less than one fourth of the total membership of the committee, and the persons appointed as representatives of the persons mentioned in paragraphs (</Addition><Emphasis><Addition ChangeId="d30p44" CommentaryRef="c582332">c</Addition></Emphasis><Addition ChangeId="d30p44" CommentaryRef="c582332">), (</Addition><Emphasis><Addition ChangeId="d30p44" CommentaryRef="c582332">d</Addition></Emphasis><Addition ChangeId="d30p44" CommentaryRef="c582332">), and (</Addition><Emphasis><Addition ChangeId="d30p44" CommentaryRef="c582332">e</Addition></Emphasis><Addition ChangeId="d30p44" CommentaryRef="c582332">) respectively shall in each case constitute not less than one-fifth of the total membership of the committee, and where one fourth or one fifth of the total membership is not an integral number, the nearest integral number to one fourth or one fifth of the total membership, as the case may be, shall be substituted therefor; and</Addition></Text></P4para></P4><P4 DocumentURI="http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/Geo5/11-12/49/section/1/3/e/ii" IdURI="http://www.legislation.gov.uk/id/ukpga/Geo5/11-12/49/section/1/3/e/ii" id="section-1-3-e-ii"><Pnumber><Addition ChangeId="d30p44" CommentaryRef="c582332">ii</Addition></Pnumber><P4para><Text><Addition ChangeId="d30p44" CommentaryRef="c582332">where the number of the members to be appointed as representatives of the persons mentioned in paragraph (</Addition><Emphasis><Addition ChangeId="d30p44" CommentaryRef="c582332">d</Addition></Emphasis><Addition ChangeId="d30p44" CommentaryRef="c582332">) as ascertained in the manner aforesaid is not an even number, the number so ascertained shall be increased by one; and</Addition></Text></P3para></P3><P3 DocumentURI="http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/Geo5/11-12/49/section/2/1/b" IdURI="http://www.legislation.gov.uk/id/ukpga/Geo5/11-12/49/section/2/1/b" id="section-2-1-b"><Pnumber><Addition ChangeId="d30p175" CommentaryRef="c582339">b</Addition></Pnumber><P3para><Text><Addition ChangeId="d30p175" CommentaryRef="c582339">to receive reports from officers in the area of the committee as to the state and progress of applications from persons residing in the area of the committee; and</Addition></Text></P3para></P3><P3 DocumentURI="http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/Geo5/11-12/49/section/2/1/c" IdURI="http://www.legislation.gov.uk/id/ukpga/Geo5/11-12/49/section/2/1/c" id="section-2-1-c"><Pnumber><Addition ChangeId="d30p175" CommentaryRef="c582339">c</Addition></Pnumber><P3para><Text><Addition ChangeId="d30p175" CommentaryRef="c582339">to hear and consider complaints made to the committee by persons in receipt of or claiming pensions, and to make representations thereon to the Minister; and</Addition></Text></P3para></P3><P3 DocumentURI="http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/Geo5/11-12/49/section/2/1/d" IdURI="http://www.legislation.gov.uk/id/ukpga/Geo5/11-12/49/section/2/1/d" id="section-2-1-d"><Pnumber><Addition ChangeId="d30p175" CommentaryRef="c582339">d</Addition></Pnumber><P3para><Text><Addition ChangeId="d30p175" CommentaryRef="c582339">to enquire into any matter referred to them by the Minister . . . </Addition><Addition ChangeId="d30p175" CommentaryRef="c582339"><CommentaryRef Ref="c582340"/>and to report thereon, with such recommendations as they think fit, to the Minister . . . </Addition><Addition ChangeId="d30p175" CommentaryRef="c582339"><CommentaryRef Ref="c582340"/>;
