In section seventeen, references to Bills in Parliament shall include references to Bills in the Parliament of Northern Ireland.

In subsection (8) of section thirty-four, for references to F3the Secretary of State and F4the Central Arbitration Committee there shall be substituted, in relation to service in Northern Ireland, references to the Ministry of Labour and National Insurance for Northern Ireland and to an industrial court established in Northern Ireland under the M3Industrial Courts Act 1919.

In subsection (2) of section seventy-two, the reference to F5the Secretary of State shall, in relation to agreements affecting persons employed by the Board or the Holding Company in Northern Ireland, include a reference to the Ministry of Labour and National Insurance for Northern Ireland.

In subsection (5) of section seventy-four, the reference to the Truck Acts, 1831 to 1940, and the M4Shop Clubs Act 1902, shall include a reference to any corresponding enactments for the time being in force in Northern Ireland.

A referee or board of referees for the purposes of section seventy-four, section eighty-one or paragraph 17 of the Seventh Schedule shall, where the proceedings are to be held in Northern Ireland, be appointed by the Ministry of Labour and National Insurance for Northern Ireland after consultation with the Lord Chief Justice of Northern Ireland.

The Lord Chief Justice of Northern Ireland may nominate any of the following to exercise his functions under sub-paragraph (1)—

a

the holder of one of the offices listed in Schedule 1 to the Justice (Northern Ireland) Act 2002;

b

a Lord Justice of Appeal (as defined in section 88 of that Act).

In subsection (9) of section seventy-four, for the reference to subsection (4) of section sixty-nine of the National Insurance Act, 1946, there shall be substituted a reference to subsection (4) of section sixty-six of the National Insurance Act (Northern Ireland), 1946.
