http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/2026/6/section/7Biodiversity Beyond National Jurisdiction Act 2026enStatute Law Database2026-08-10Expert Participation2026-08-09 Part 2 7 1 Access provided under section 5(2)(b) or 6(3)(b) may be made subject to conditions consistent with paragraphs (a) to (d) of Article 14(4) of the Agreement (factors that may affect access). 2 For the purposes of sections 5(2)(c) and 6(3)(c), a “relevant 2-year period” is— a the period of 2 years beginning with the day on which— i the Agreement enters into force in accordance with Article 68(1), or ii if later, the Agreement enters into force for the United Kingdom in accordance with Article 68(2), and b each subsequent period of 2 years. 3 A report under section 5(2)(c) or 6(3)(c) must be given to the Secretary of State— a before the end of the period of 2 months beginning with the day immediately after the relevant 2-year period in question, or b by such other time as the Secretary of State may, by directions given to the person required to give the report, specify for the purposes of complying with any timetable set by the access and benefit-sharing committee established under Article 15 of the Agreement. 4 Directions under subsection (3)(b) may be general or specific.
