Duties on regulated clubs

49Duty not to change crest, home shirt colours or name without approval

(1)

A regulated club must not make any material changes to—

(a)

any emblem or crest of a relevant team operated by the club, or

(b)

the predominant home shirt colours of such a team,

unless the club has taken reasonable steps to establish that the changes are supported by a majority of the club’s fans in England and Wales.

(2)

A regulated club must not change the name of a relevant team operated by the club unless the change has been approved by the Football Association.
